Dodges Ferry Primary School’s motto is “A Caring Place” with our Commitment being “Together we inspire and support all learners to succeed as connected, resilient, creative and curious thinkers”. Our school is known and loved by past and present students because of its atmosphere of warmth, acceptance and support and for its highly engaging and challenging curriculum.

We want every child who leaves our school to be curious, creative, collaborative and lifelong learners who are sensitive and open to others’ points of view and active participants in local, national and global issues. We are a Walker Learning School. Walker Learning is a holistic teaching and learning approach that is developmentally and culturally appropriate for children in their early childhood and primary years of education.

The school plays an important role in the community by offering an extensive Birth to age 4 (Launching into Learning) social and learning program that is open to all families. It is here we focus on developing positive relationships, support networks, life skills, caring communities and engagement with school.

Dodges Ferry Primary is a school where students feel safe, happy and above all, valued. We are unique because of our outstanding physical setting that includes the beaches of Fredrick Henry Bay and surrounding bush and wetland environments. This environment provides the impetus for much of our inquiry based learning and is in part the motivation behind our school motto of “A Caring Place”.
