As our vision states, Exeter Primary School is focused on providing a learning environment of the highest quality possible to create a community of life-long learners.

We support children’s engagement with the learning experiences required to achieve continuous improvements in learning outcomes.

Our school is located in the rural community of Exeter in northern Tasmania. Our history began in 1909 when the first school in the area was established on land that was once an orchard. The main building in our current school was built in 1940, with extensions occurring regularly as the school population continued to grow. The Building the Education Revolution funding saw the construction of a school hall which will serve our school and community as a Performing Arts complex and as a meeting place.

Exeter is a K-6 school that has a strong focus on providing a learning environment that is supportive and inclusive of all. Learning is tailored to both support and extend all learners. In the emphasis we place on literacy, numeracy and positive behaviour, we support our students to be the best they can be.

Our school-wide expectations of ‘Be safe, Be your best, Care for the rest’ can be seen in our interactions around our school, and are supported by the Department’s values of Aspiration, Respect, Courage and Growth.
