Welcome to Hillcrest Primary School. Our school was established in 1981 and encompasses expansive grounds on the outskirts of Devonport. We have a modern school set in a large natural environment.

Our school sets high expectations for Learning and Teaching, working with families in partnership to provide rich learning opportunities for all. Our school values, Respect, Connection, Responsibility, Growth and Courage, guide our interactions with each other and they way we act. Our Hilly Kids are Friendly Kids social and emotional learning program is the basis of what it means to be a ‘Hilly Kid’.

We have many generous sized classrooms that are bright, cheerful and fully equipped with modern technologies for learning, including; smart TV’s, class libraries, practical areas for arts, creative and cooperative learning.

Our extensive outside space offers children room to explore with their peers and the freedom to use their energy in the playground, the fitness track, the basketball courts, large playing fields and on our play equipment. We have an abundant vegetable garden area that is managed and cared for by our staff and students. Our Kindergarten area encompasses 2 large classrooms that connects to a separate enclosed playground. This area offers children an outdoor learning space for indoor-outdoor play experiences. Our connection with Launching into Learning and Pre-Kinder sessions ensure a smooth transition for children starting school, offering extensive connection opportunities with both the environment and staff.

We have an active School Association Committee comprised of parents and staff which helps with school decision making and fundraising. We welcome all new parents to participate actively within the association as much as possible.

Our School Canteen is available 3 days per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays and Breakfast Club daily from 8:30am. We have on site before & after school care, provided daily by Devonport Childcare from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
